Dear Ones – Greetings - one of our first Practitioners, trained in Concordia, served Concordia in Warwick and other cities in our state is moving on into the more and the new. As a Practitioner, she journeyed into greater service with Centers for Spiritual Living as a Regional Practitioner Representative in our North East Region, as the Secretary of the CSL Practitioner Council and as a member on the Ministers and Practitioners Licensing Committee. She is a retired employee of the RI Federal Court.

Reverend Ian Taylor
Senior Minister Concordia Center for Spiritual Living Reverand Ian Taylor is an ordained Minister, affiliated with the Centers for Spiritual Living. Upon receiving a Letter of Call, in September 2007, he has been serving as the Spiritual Leader of Concordia Center for Spiritual Living, accompanied by his wife, Laurie Taylor. Rev. Ian Taylor is in service as Community Spiritual Leader, and he serves on the Leadership Council as the Ecclesiastical Ministries Coordinator and Corporate Secretary. He delivers inspirational lessons at the Sunday Celebration Services and teaches Centers for Spiritual Living Certified classes during the week. Rev. Ian Taylor is also in service to Centers for Spiritual Living by being a member of the Affiliation Review Committee and is the Regional Service Coordinator for the North East (Region 11). Rev. Concordia Center for Spiritual Living
Reverend Celeste M. Warner graduated from from the Holmes Institute in June 2015 and became a licensed minister in August 2015. Before her work in ministry, Rev. Celeste was a Licensed Spiritual Practitioner working and teaching in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota. Rhode Island and Concordia have always been her Spiritual home in fact she is Concordia's first home grown minister.
Prior to her studies at Holmes, Rev. Celeste taught leadership, nonviolence and customer service to healthcare corporations and colleges throughout the country. She is certified Executive Life Coach from the Coaches Training Institute. She holds a masters degree in critical and creative thinking from Umass Boston and is a level II Trainer in Kingian Nonviolence.
At Concordia, she teaches CSL classes, facilitates Concordia's parenting group, spearheads special projects, provides Spiritual counseling and delivers Sunday services.

- Our Children’s Ministry meets weekly at 9:15am - Our Teens Ministry meets on the 2nd and last Sundays, unless occasionally rescheduled – We provide Child Care weekly for children under 5 years old.
- Our “Parenting by SOM Principles” Ministry meets weekly after service in Fellowship Hall – all adults in parenting and caregiving roles are invited to attend – Refer to Rev Celeste.
CONCORDIA OFFERS VIBRANT SPIRITUAL HEALING SUPPORT:
- Licensed Spiritual Practitioners are available for spiritual support and guidance. Please make appointments with them privately. These are professional sessions, however, no one will be denied due to inability to pay.
- Licensed Spiritual Practitioners are available to perform spiritual mind treatments with you today after our Service. They will perform spiritual mind treatments for you during the week, if you submit treatment request cards, clearly and legibly written, and place them in the treatment boxes near the bookstore and the upstairs vestibule.

Hospitality – Looking for volunteers to help nourish our flock. Do you enjoy socializing and being nourished after church on Sundays Then we need your help to set up before service and/or to help clean up after. Ideally we would like to have two (2) people set up before service and clean up after…..many hands make for light work! You can sign up for as often as you want….weekly, monthly, etc. We also need food each week…..as this is all volunteer…..Sign up sheet is at information desk or see Heather Kilgore

SCIENCE OF MIND WISDOM:
- Nature will not let us stay in any one place too long. She will let us stay just long enough to gather the experience necessary to the unfolding and advancement of the soul. This is a wise provision, for should we stay here too long, we would become too set, too rigid, too inflexible. Nature demands the change in order that we may advance. When the change comes, we should welcome it with a smile on the lips and a song in the heart. (The Science of Mind 1938, p. 385.1)
- And so we prepare not to die, but to live. The thought of death should slip from our consciousness altogether; and when this great event of the soul takes place, it should be beautiful, sublime . . . a glorious experience. As the eagle, freed from the home of heavy flesh, will rise and return unto its Father’s house, naked and unafraid. (The Science of Mind 1938, p. 388.4)
- The soul is the one triumphant, indestructible and unconquerable thing you possess. Shot from the Invisible into this experience, it constitutes your great reality. But why wait for physical death to enjoy and experience your immortal being? Do not prepare to die. Prepare to live, whether you are ten years old or one hundred. There is no death. It is impossible for you to die. Stop trying to die and learn to live. (This Thing Called You 1948, p. 111.2)
Observations (1968):
If we believe that God is Substance, then we believe that the Substance which is God manifests to us daily in supply. What if that supply is what we call a house, a suit of clothes, an automobile, money with which to pay the rent or what-not -- Substance is one end, supply is the other. Substance is the cause, supply is the effect. And we are so constituted that each one of us has direct access to the limitless Substance, and, therefore, may become a channel for Its infinite supply.
Living the Science of Mind (1984):
Jesus announced the Principle of Substance and Supply, or the Law of Opulence. He clearly taught that it is right for us to have what we want provided we subject our desires to the Divine Will and Divine Necessity. Just what do we mean by Divine Will and Divine Necessity? Divine Will means the nature of God or Spirit, and Divine Necessity means the Law of Cause and Effect.
Science of Mind Magazine:
When we establish within our thought a nonresistance to that Power which is greater than we are, we are at the same time accepting within ourselves a stability that is the stability of the universe. We find ourselves secure, for we know that we are part of That which causes change but is never affected by any of the changes
The Science of Mind (1938):
In our ignorance of the truth, we have misused the highest power we possess. And so great is this power -- so complete is our freedom in it, so absolute the domain of law through it -- that the misuse of this power has brought upon us the very conditions from which we suffer. (p. 36.4)

And so, we suffer, not because suffering is imposed upon us, but because we are ignorant of our true nature.

In the Science of Mind, we believe that the fields of religion and science are complementary, and that science will prove what the mystics have said for thousands of years about the nature of God, human beings, and the Universe. These beliefs are being proven even now by many quantum physicists who have found that the universe is made up of energy that cannot be destroyed and is infinitely intelligent.

What We Believe – Our Guiding Principles
We believe that the universe is spiritual and has intelligence, purpose, beauty, and order. Our beliefs are in harmony with all the world’s great spiritual teachings, and we honor all paths to God. Whether we call it God, Spirit, Energy, or Universal Intelligence, we are ever conscious that all people, places, and things emanate from this Universal Intelligence that is within us and all around us.
You and God are Inseparable
We believe that God is a Loving Intelligence, operating in and through all life, never separate from anyone or anything. Through study and spiritual practice we come to understand our oneness with this indwelling Divine Presence. We teach and practice a way of life where we can all learn how to live in accordance with spiritual principles. These principles, which we call the Science of Mind, are as reliable as the laws of physical science. We believe in Cause and Effect and teach that “It is done unto you as you believe.” In essence, your thinking and your expectations create your reality. By studying and applying spiritual laws, you can change your unconscious beliefs and create improved conditions in your life.

The New Thought tradition dates to the 1880s and has its roots in the Transcendentalist Movement of the 1830s. New Thought has an enduring and respected legacy that includes luminaries such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emma Curtis Hopkins, Phineas Quimby, and Walt Whitman. Some of the better known authors today whose writings represent our teachings are Michael Bernard Beckwith, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Byron Katie, Caroline Reynolds, and Eckhart Tolle, as well as many others.
Our teachings incorporate the ancient wisdom of all the spiritual traditions through the ages. People of all spiritual paths Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, New Age and others are welcome in our communities.
